1. Angkor Wat
This temple is a famous tourist attraction in Cambodia. Almost all tourists come to Cambodia to visit Angkor Wat which is full of history. Another tourist destination in Cambodia is the Palace of the King of Cambodia which is located in Phnom Penh City. This King’s Palace is very interesting because apart from its beautiful building and typical Cambodian shape. And still at the King’s Palace, we can also visit the Silver Pagoda. The Silver Pagoda is located on the south side of the palace. Previously, this building was known as Wat Preah Keo. It is called the Silver Pagoda because the floor is covered with more than ,000 silver tiles and each tile weighs 1 kg.
The steps leading to the Silver Pagoda are made of marble specially imported from Italy. Inside this building there is a Buddha statue made of gold and decorated with 9.84 2 carat diamonds weighing 90 kg. This building is the official place of worship for the King of Cambodia. If visiting the palace and the Silver Pagoda, it is recommended to leave early (open from 8 am), because at 11 – 2 pm, the palace complex is closed to tourists because the King is scheduled to hold an event and receive state guests at that time. The palace will reopen at 2 pm.
